Preventing Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids can occur due to any kind of strain or pressure laid down on anus or anal area. There are tiny veins around the rectum which become swollen and give birth to hemorrhoids. If we decrease the sprain that is put on anus we reduce the chances of hemorrhoids to occur. There are a number of tiny things that you can add to your life style and so that you can avoid the risk of getting aching hemorrhoids.

High fiber foods should be added to your diet. Foods that contain fiber usually create some stools that can easily pass through body. And when the stool passes it is able to reduce the strain on the anus or the anal area and thus lowering down the possibilities of getting hemorrhoids.

High fiber foods consist of: vegetables, high bran foods, grains and fruits.

Food that is processed may be easy to get hands on but the problem with that food is it cause stools to solidify and become stiff mainly because of lack of fiber in them.

If you feel that it’s hard for you to change your diet to include some fiber in it, there are a number of stool softening fiber products that are available at your local pharmacy. These products can be in the form of powder or it can also be in the form of pills. If you are confused about which type you should pick it’s better to see your doctor first then.

Consuming more water is also recommendable in addition to having rich fiber foods. Usually it is advisable to drink 8-8oz glasses of water in a day. Water will help relax your stools in result causing lesser sprain on anal muscles and ultimately will decrease the chances of hemorrhoids.

Plus you can also work on your toilet habits. You shouldn’t wait till the last moment or until you fell like you really have to go. This habit gives your stools much time to solidify and waiting in intestines to be excluded.  A hardened stool will become the basis of more stress on anal muscles and eventually giving  birth to hemorrhoids.

Spending more time in bathroom than needed can also become a reason for developing hemorrhoids. If you have a habit of reading or staying for longer time in bathroom, you need to work on it.

Doctors say a clean anal area will greatly reduce the chances of hemorrhoids to occur. According to some people, cleaning with toilet paper is fine but now there are flushable wipes available in the market that will ensure clean anus.

A regular exercise is also an additional benefit. Exercising for 30 minutes a day is beneficial to your health in general.

Even a lazy man knows that if we are not exercising daily and not leading an active lifestyle, then we are just creating problems for ourselves. Sitting on chairs for long hours cause strain on anus and that contributes towards hemorrhoids.

It is said that we should not continuously sit for an hour but walk for at least 5 minutes every hour or so. And it's not even tiring at all, just like grabbing a cup of tea from kitchen.

And when you will exercise regularly, it will increase the flow of blood in your veins as well. It will ultimately also reduce the pressure in the veins around the anus and also help reducing the constipation.
